Homemade Chocolate Tablets

Homemade chocolate tablets are perfect for adding to hot milk to make a rich traditional drink from Mexican recipes. Bitter chocolate, cinnamon, and sugar are ingredients for making hot chocolate.

  • 500 grams dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • 2 cinnamon powder

  • In a pot, pour water and bring to a boil, then place a glass bowl on top (to create a double boiler). Add the chocolate and sugar.
  • Once the chocolate and sugar start to melt, add the cinnamon and stir until combined.
  • Cool the chocolate slightly and pour into molds (previously greased).
  • Freeze for 1 hour or until the chocolate is completely hard. Remove the tablets from the molds and wrap each one in wax paper.
  • Store in an airtight container in a dark, ventilated place.
