Traditional Punch

Prepare this hot seasonal drink, as it is ideal for sharing with your whole family. Fill your home with the smell and flavor of the Christmas spirit with this traditional punch that we all love for its fruity taste.

  • 4 liters water
  • 1 cup hibiscus flower
  • 1 kilo sugar cane
  • 1 cup guava, in halves
  • 1 cup tejocote
  • 2 apples
  • 2 pears
  • 1 cup piloncillo
  • 1 cup tamarind pods, without skin
  • 2 star anise pods
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup red wine, if needed

  • Add the hibiscus flower to a pot with boiling water and remove the flowers after 5 minutes.
  • Peel and cut the sugar cane, and once ready, add it to the infusion of water with hibiscus.
  • Cut the fruit and add the ingredients to the punch, cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add the piloncillo and stir with a spoon until it completely dissolves, once dissolved, add the tamarind, raisins, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon stick. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Serve the punch with some of the fruits, and if needed, red wine can be added.
