Mimosa with Tangerine Snow

The mimosa is a classic cocktail, a drink made of sparkling wine accompanied by some fruit juice. Here we present a delicious recipe that is very easy to prepare. The mimosa with tangerine snow is a cocktail whose base is sparkling wine, accompanied by a tasty tangerine snow.

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cups mandarin orange juice
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 bottle wine, sparkling
  • 1 kilo coarse salt
  • 1 bag ice cubes

  • Pour the sugar and water into a pot. Heat the mixture, stirring continuously, until a syrup forms. Once the liquid has reduced by half, remove it from the heat and let it cool completely.
  • Extract the juice from the tangerines and strain it.
  • Once the syrup is cold, add the tangerine juice and mix.
  • Pour this syrup into a metal container. In a larger container, add coarse salt and ice (the salt is used to slow down the melting process). Place the pot with the syrup on top of the ice. Rotate the syrup container to cool the snow faster.
  • Place the pot with the syrup in the freezer (every 30 minutes), continue stirring the mixture so that it crystallizes and hardens.
  • Chill the sparkling wine. Once it is well chilled, open the bottle.
  • In glasses, serve a scoop of tangerine snow (make sure the snow is very cold and firm for easier handling) and pour the sparkling wine over it.
