Cinnamon rolls are a delicious and easy recipe to make, but you need to have patience, as the rolls require fermentation time that makes them fluffy and gives them that texture we love; give it a try, it's super tasty and gourmet.
First, add the yeast to a bowl with the warm water and the teaspoon of sugar. Stir a little to dissolve it and let it rest for about 10 minutes until it ferments. After this step, we will add the rest of the ingredients: The cream, the egg, the melted butter, the sugar, the salt, the vanilla, and finally the 3 cups of flour.
Knead for 6 minutes. The dough should be elastic, somewhat sticky but should pull away from the bowl.
After the 6 minutes, we will grease the container with a little oil so it doesn't stick and let it rest covered for 90 minutes. You can place it inside the oven without turning it on.
After an hour and a half, the dough should have doubled in size; lightly flour the table and roll the dough into a rectangular shape with a rolling pin until it is approximately 50 cm long x 30 cm wide and 1/2 cm thick to proceed with the filling: a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and butter.
Roll out the dough completely, cut it in half, then cut those two halves in half again, and so on until you have 16 equal pieces of rolls.
(Note:) If you want them taller, instead of 16 pieces, cut into 12 (approximately 4 cm each roll). Place them on a well-greased baking tray; it's important so they don't stick. Let them rest covered for 1 hour. Bake at 200ºC for 20 to 25 minutes, always checking to make sure they don't stick.
