Berliner doughnuts are filled buns generally with jams or sweet creams; they are a dessert from German pastry. With this homemade sweet bread recipe, you will delight everyone because they are very easy to make and turn out spectacular.
1/4 cups unsalted butter , at room temperature (45 grams)
1 tablespoon orange zest
2 cups oil
pastry cream, for filling
hazelnut chocolate cream, for filling
powdered sugar, for decoration

Beat the flour, sugar, and yeast together, mixing until integrated. Add the egg and milk, and knead until a homogeneous dough is achieved.
Add the butter, orange zest, and knead until a smooth dough is obtained. Let it rest until it doubles in size in a bowl covered with non-stick plastic wrap.
On a floured table or surface, roll out the dough to about 5 mm thick and use a round cutter to cut out circles; place them on a baking sheet and let them rest for 15 minutes.
In a saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat and fry the Berliner doughnuts for about 4 minutes on each side; place on paper towels and cool.
Using a pastry bag and tip, fill the Berliner doughnuts with pastry cream, hazelnut cream, or your preferred filling, and decorate with powdered sugar.
