This delicious snack consists of circles of puff pastry filled with brie cheese, apricot jam, and sliced almonds. It is very easy to make and looks incredible.
Start by placing half of the puff pastry on a clean surface with a little flour. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough until it is just 1/2 cm thick.
Using a cookie cutter, cut circles from the dough and place them on a baking sheet previously greased with vegetable spray.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
In a deep bowl, beat the egg with the water and, using a pastry brush or a small spoon, cover the circles of puff pastry with the mixture.
To make the edges of the puff pastry, cut a circle the same size as the base and then, using a smaller cookie cutter, remove the center, leaving a donut shape of puff pastry.
Place the donut over the base and press down firmly. This shape will cause the edges (the donut) to rise more, achieving the appearance shown in the photo.
With a fork, poke the base of each puff pastry slightly so it can breathe while cooking.
Repeat with all the puff pastry.
Fill each puff pastry with 1/2 tablespoon of jam, a slice of cheese, and sliced almonds. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden and crispy.
Remove from the oven.
