Cheese-Stuffed Arepas

This recipe is for making Colombian arepas; they are a very traditional dish that is also consumed in different countries in South America. You can fill them with different ingredients, depending on what you like the most.

  • 1 1/2 kilos corn masa flour, white
  • 350 grams butter 350 grams butter

  • Heat the water until it boils.
  • Mix all the ingredients except for the water.
  • Add the water while kneading the mixture.
  • Portion into balls of 150 grams.
  • Divide the balls in half.
  • Make a dough for the bottom of the round mold, place the cheese in the center and cover with the rest of the dough.
  • Place on a pre-greased hot iron griddle.
  • Grill and enjoy.
