Easy Waffles

Versatile and easy to make, these waffles are perfect for breakfast, as a snack, or as a dessert.

  • 175 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 300 milliliters cow's milk
  • 75 grams unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs , separated
  • honey, jam, dried fruits, whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

  • In a bowl, place the flour, baking powder, and powdered sugar, and make a well in the center. Pour in the milk, butter, vanilla, and egg yolks, whisk and gradually incorporate the flour.
  • Preheat the waffle maker or griddle. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form in a bowl and fold them into the liquid batter with a metal spoon.
  • Preheat the oven to 250°F (250°C). Pour a small spoonful of batter onto the hot waffle iron (or the amount recommended by the manufacturer) and spread it to near the edges. Bake until golden brown.
  • Serve immediately with maple syrup, jam, whipped cream, or ice cream. Or keep them warm in the oven in a single layer until all are ready.
