Heart-Shaped French Toast

  • 6 slices sandwich bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1/4 tablespoons nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup strawberries, or blueberries
  • 1/2 cups hazelnut chocolate cream

  • In a bowl, whisk eggs and vanilla.
  • In another bowl, mix sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  • In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut sandwich bread hearts.
  • Dip each sandwich bread heart in egg mixture and coat with cinnamon sugar.
  • In a skillet, toast each sandwich bread heart for 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Place on a covered plate to keep them warm.
  • Cut strawberries into slices.
  • For assembling the heart-shaped French toast: On a plate, place one toasted sandwich bread heart. Spread hazelnut chocolate cream on top. Top with sliced strawberries. Place another toasted sandwich bread on top. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used up.
