Nutritious and Fun Apple Pancakes

Boxed flour pancakes filled with thin slices of apple, a breakfast that will help children eat fruits and starches in a fun and nutritious way.

  • 1 cup pancake mix
  • 3/4 cups cow's milk, (pancake batter)
  • 1 egg, (pancake batter)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, (pancake batter)
  • 1 apple
  • fruits, to create the face

  • Blend all the ingredients for the pancake batter and set aside.
  • Peel and cut thin slices of apple.
  • Place a pan (I use a small circular one) on very low heat and drop a little bit of the mixture to create a thin layer.
  • Immediately place the apple slices on top of the still-raw batter and add a little more pancake mixture on top.
  • Cook perfectly on both sides and set aside until the mixture is finished; it should yield 6 to 8 pieces.
