Pancakes with Apples and Caramel

This pancake recipe is made with caramelized apples and served with maple syrup. It is a delight for breakfast on a cold day accompanied by coffee or tea. It also makes a delicious dessert for a craving. EAT WELL

  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 cups butter
  • 3/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 apples, sliced thinly
  • 1 cup Gamesa® pancake mix
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups cow's milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cups maple syrup, warm

  • First, prepare the caramelized apples. Melt the butter in a large skillet and add the brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook and stir until all the sugar is melted. Add the apple slices and coat them with this caramel mixture.
  • Cook the apples over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until they are soft, stirring frequently. Keep warm over low heat when ready.
  • Prepare the pancakes by mixing the Gamesa® Pancake Flour with cinnamon, and add the milk, egg, and melted butter. Stir with a whisk to avoid lumps and let it rest for 1-2 minutes to thicken.
  • In a large non-stick skillet, melt a little butter and pour in 1/4 cup of the pancake mixture. Wait for bubbles to form and it to be golden, then flip. Repeat this step until all the pancake mixture is used.
  • Serve the pancakes with the caramelized apple mixture and maple syrup.
