Blackberry Waffles on the Inside

Try this recipe for Blackberry Waffles on the Inside; in this recipe, I added the blackberries into the batter, which gave it a different touch that made it very appealing.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoons salt
  • 4 eggs, separated egg yolks and whites
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 2 cups blackberries

  • Preheat the waffle maker.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another large bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, and whisk with a balloon whisk.
  • Combine the flour mixture with the egg mixture and beat.
  • With an electric mixer, beat the egg whites for 1 minute until stiff peaks form. Using a wooden spoon, mix the egg whites with the flour and egg mixture. Add the blackberries to the mixture and stir with a wooden spatula.
  • Grease the waffle maker with cooking spray and place enough batter to make 1 waffle. Close the waffle maker and cook for 2-3 minutes or until lightly golden. Repeat with the remaining waffles.
