Beef and Bean Stew

Delicious beef and bean stew that gives a special flavor. It is served with white rice and is a very complete dish by itself.

  • 500 grams white bean
  • 500 grams beef shank
  • 1 onion, large
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 potato
  • 1/3 cups tomato purée
  • 2 leaves bay
  • 1 sprig celery
  • pepper
  • beef broths , or chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 carrot

  • Clean and wash the beans, and soak them the night before preparing them.
  • Bring the beans to a boil and discard the first water.
  • At the same time, bring the meat cut into pieces to a boil to make a beef broth. Keep the marrow bones in for extra flavor. Boil the meat well until it is tender.
  • Once the meat is ready, add the beans, potato, onion, garlic cloves, chopped and peeled tomato, celery, bay leaf, tomato puree, and carrot. Season with salt and pepper and with beef or chicken bouillon powder, and let it simmer over medium heat until the beans are tender.
  • Blend the garlic, onion, potato, and carrot in a blender, then incorporate them back into the stew. Let it simmer on low heat a little longer and remove the celery and bay leaf.
  • Taste to check if it has enough salt and pepper, and it's ready to serve.
