Beef Stew in Red Wine

  • 1 kilo beef shoulder, cut into 5cm cubes
  • 200 grams bacon
  • 45 grams butter
  • 5 green onions
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups Great Value® wheat flour
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cups button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 bunches aromatic herbs
  • 1 teaspoon Great Value® plain salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper

  • In a pot, heat the butter over medium heat and add the bacon and meat, carrots, and let cook for 5 minutes.
  • Let the meat brown and add flour while stirring, then add the beef broth.
  • Pour in the wine, season with salt and pepper, add herbs and chopped garlic, bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
