Ground Meatballs

  • 250 grams ground pork
  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 250 grams ground veal
  • 2 slices white bread
  • 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cups fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 1/2 onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/3 cups olive oil
  • 6 cups marinara sauce, or tomato sauce
  • pepper , to taste
  • 1/3 cups cow's milk
  • peperoncinos

  • In a food processor, process the white bread until it becomes breadcrumb-like and mix with the milk.
  • In a deep bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, ground meat, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, onion, garlic, and egg. Mix well with your hands and season with pepperoncino and pepper to taste.
  • Using your hands, make 18 meatballs, about the size of golf balls.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for about 6-8 minutes and remove from the oil.
  • Return the meatballs to the skillet and pour the marinara sauce over them. Allow the sauce to boil, then reduce the heat and let the meatballs cook for another 15 minutes.
