Oaxacan Meatballs

Try some delicious beef meatballs in the true Oaxacan style, with a spicy but very rich flavor. They will turn out delicious and you can prepare them for your next gathering.

  • 750 grams ground beef
  • 1 pinch cumin
  • 1 sprig mint leaf
  • 1 tablespoon granulated chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 cups rice, soaked in hot water and drained
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 3 eggs , cooked and cut into 4
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, slice
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 chipotle chiles, canned
  • 2 cubes broth, with chicken tomato
  • 2 cups water

  • Grind the cumin and mint in the molcajete.
  • In a bowl, mix what you ground with the meat, chicken broth, rice, raw eggs, and bread.
  • Divide the mixture into 12 portions and make the meatballs by placing a piece of boiled egg in the center.
  • In a separate pan, heat the oil and fry the onion until golden, add the blended tomato with chipotle peppers. Let it boil for a few minutes.
  • Add the chicken tomato concentrate and water.
  • When it starts to boil, add the meatballs and cook until they soften.
