Spicy Meatballs in Chipotle Sauce

Meatballs are one of our favorite dishes in Mexican cuisine. Who hasn’t tried meatballs made by mom? There will be no excuses to prepare them with this homemade recipe.

  • 1 kilo ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup rice, cooked
  • 4 eggs, hard, cut into quarters
  • 8 tomatoes, grilled
  • 1 can chipotle chile in adobo sauce
  • 1/4 onions, grilled
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • salt
  • 6 slices Artesano® bread

  • In a bowl, combine the meat, onion, eggs, mix until incorporated, and season with salt.
  • Form meatballs by placing the boiled egg in the middle and sealing. Reserve.
  • For the sauce, blend the tomatoes with the chipotle pepper, garlic, onion, and chicken broth.
  • In a pot, heat the oil over medium heat and pour in the sauce, let it cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add the meatballs and cook for an additional 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Serve hot and accompany with Artisan Bread®
