Chicken with Green Sauce

From the kitchen of Mexico to your table, we have this recipe for chicken in green sauce, which consists of a very flavorful green tomato sauce.

  • 12 chicken drumsticks
  • 1/2 kilos red potato, small
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 15 tomatillos
  • 2 serrano chiles
  • 4 sprigs fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • pepper

  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Brown it in hot oil for 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  • Blend the peeled green tomatoes, chiles, cilantro, onion, and garlic in the blender. Season with salt and pepper. Put the sauce in a large saucepan.
  • Cut the potatoes in half and boil them for 10 minutes. Then add them to the sauce along with the chicken and the juices it has released.
  • Cook over medium heat until the chicken and potatoes are well cooked, approximately 40 minutes.
