Baked Breaded Chicken

A delicious and classic recipe with a healthier twist by being baked instead of fried.

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • salt

  • ketchup

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Mix in a deep bowl the breadcrumbs, thyme, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  • With a meat mallet, flatten the chicken breasts.
  • Prepare three deep plates, one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and another with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Prepare a baking sheet with aluminum foil and cooking spray.
  • Pass each chicken breast first through the flour, then the egg, and finally the breadcrumbs, and place them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the chicken breasts until the crust is crispy and the chicken is well-cooked, approximately 20-30 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and serve with ketchup.
