Sweet Chile Chicken Breast

Delicious flattened chicken breast with sweet and sour sauce and a touch of chili that will delight all your guests.

  • 6 chicken breasts, flattened
  • cornstarch , to thicken
  • 1/2 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1/8 cups soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated or finely chopped
  • 1 serrano chile, chopped, as needed
  • water, as needed

  • Season the breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Coat the breasts with cornstarch and fry them in a bit of oil. Set aside.
  • In a small pot, put the balsamic vinegar along with the sugar and let it reduce.
  • Add the minced ginger and chili.
  • Add a little water and let everything reduce until it forms a sort of honey. Taste to see if it needs more sweetness.
  • To plate, place a chicken breast on each plate, covering it with the sauce.
  • If desired, toasted sesame seeds can be added on top.
  • For the side dish, grilled asparagus with Parmesan cheese would be a great option.
