Oven-Baked Chicken Wings with Homemade BBQ Sauce

Classic recipe for preparing oven-baked wings drenched in homemade BBQ sauce.   • Sauté the onion and garlic cloves in a pot over medium heat with butter and a splash of olive oil.
  • Add all the ingredients (except the wings, of course). Stir well and let it cook slowly for 20 minutes. Check the salt and any other ingredients if you think they are lacking.
  • After this time, the sauce should have reduced a bit and its flavor should be concentrated. If you find it still too liquid, increase the heat and stir constantly to help it reduce.
  • Now, on a large tray, place the chicken wings, add salt and pepper, and start brushing them with the BBQ sauce using a brush. Coat them well on both sides. Don’t use all the sauce; leave some for a second layer later.
  • Put the wings in the oven at 180°C and let them cook for 20 minutes.
  • Flip them over and return them to the oven for another 10 minutes.
  • Flip them again, brush with another layer of BBQ sauce, and put them back in the oven, this time only with heat from above so they brown and become crispy.
  • In 5 minutes, they should be ready.
  • Serve them on a platter.
