Chicken Gringa

To enjoy a delicious gringa, you don’t have to leave home, especially if you have this chicken gringa recipe. To prepare it and make it even more flavorful, it is glazed with Herdez® Chiplomango Sauce, and it’s a variant of the dish just as tasty for those who don’t eat pork. Serve it with grilled pineapple and fresh cilantro, and enjoy it from home, but with the flavor of a gringa made in a taqueria.

  • 1/2 cups chiplomango sauce Herdez®
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons garlic
  • 1/4 cups lime juice
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cups chicken breast
  • 1 cup pineapple, sliced
  • 12 flour tortillas
  • 1 cup asadero cheese, shredded
  • fresh cilantro, finely chopped for garnish

  • In a small pot, heat the Herdez® Chiplomango Sauce, butter, garlic, lime juice, honey, mustard, salt, pepper, and cook for 15 minutes, or until the sauce reduces.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the oil and sear the chicken, add the glaze and cook for 15 minutes. Reserve.
  • Grill the pineapples on both sides and cut into cubes.
  • On a griddle, heat the tortillas and add the chicken, asadero cheese, and fold in half.
  • Serve with grilled pineapple, garnish with cilantro, and accompany with limes. Enjoy.
