Oriental Lettuce Tacos

A delicious oriental recipe of chicken with vegetables and oriental sauces served in lettuce leaves.

  • 1 kilo chicken breast
  • 6 scallions, (stems)
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cups oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 jicamas, cubed
  • 4 romaine lettuces , the big ear

  • In a wok, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  • Finely chop the garlic, ginger, and green onion.
  • Sauté in the wok until the garlic is slightly golden.
  • Add the chicken cut into small cubes and stir constantly while it cooks.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, add the sauces, vinegar, and sugar.
  • Cook for 2-3 more minutes and add the jicama, bamboo, and peanuts. Cook for 3 more minutes.
  • Serve on previously disinfected lettuce leaves.
  • Oriental sauces can be placed on the plate where the tacos are served so that guests can season to their liking.
