Stove-Top Orange Chicken

Try this sweet orange sauce chicken recipe that, besides being delicious, is perfect for December celebration dinners or any other special occasion. It cooks without an oven, so there will be no excuse to cook this Christmas. If you like, you can add a little white wine to the cooking; this ingredient will give more aroma to the dish.   • 1 chicken
  • salt, for the chicken
  • pepper, for the chicken
  • orange, in slices for the chicken
  • lime, in slices for the chicken
  • sprigs rosemary, for the chicken
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped for the sauce
  • 1 cup orange jam, for the sauce
  • 1/2 cups BBQ sauce, for the sauce
  • 1/4 cups soy sauce, for the sauce
  • 1/4 cups butter, melted for the sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups orange juice, for the sauce
  • 1/2 cups lime juice, for the sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter, for browning the chicken
  • 1/2 cups red onion, in strips for the chicken
  • 1 1/2 cups new potatoes, in halves for the chicken
  • pears, roasted for accompaniment
  • button mushrooms, with rosemary, for accompaniment
  • mashed sweet potatoes, for accompaniment

  • Place the chicken on a cutting board and season with salt and pepper all over. Add some slices of orange, lemon, and a few sprigs of rosemary inside the chicken; using hemp thread, tie the legs together to shape it. Set aside.
  • Mix in a bowl the garlic, orange marmalade, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, melted butter, orange juice, and lemon juice until fully combined. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter, place the chicken, and fry it on both sides for a few minutes. Pour the previous mixture over the chicken until completely covered, place the remaining slices in the saucepan, add the onion, baby potatoes, and the remaining rosemary. Cover and place on the stove, cook for 75 minutes over medium heat.
  • Serve with baby potatoes and cooking sauce. Enjoy!
