Salt-Baked Chicken

Prepare this delicious and super easy salt-baked chicken for any occasion. It's perfect for a dinner with many guests, it's practical, and it won't take you much time to make. Don't worry, it won't be salty, but very tender and juicy.

  • 1 chicken
  • paprika
  • coarse salt
  • pepper
  • 1 head garlic
  • aromatic herbs, fresh (oregano, thyme, marjoram, bay leaf, etc.)
  • 1 lemon , in slices

  • Wash the chicken under running water. Dry it with a clean cloth.
  • Place a head of garlic, lemon slices, and fresh herbs inside the chicken. Season with pepper and paprika on the outside.
  • Tie the chicken with twine to keep the pieces together.
  • Pour coarse sea salt into the bottom of the baking tray. Place the chicken on top and cover it completely with coarse salt.
  • Bake at 180°C for 1 hour or until a slightly golden salt crust has formed.
  • Remove from the oven after the time has passed, carefully using a knife to take off the layer of salt along with the skin of the chicken.
