Lamb Gyro

Delicious Greek-style lamb gyro recipe. It's simply delicious; gyros are a delicacy as the lamb meat is served on pita bread and dressed with a yogurt-cucumber sauce. Try it, you won't regret it.

  • 400 grams lamb
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons thyme
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/4 cups olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 4 pita breads
  • salt

  • Cut the meat into thin strips (as if it were pastor meat).
  • Crush the garlic and in a bowl, mix the meat with garlic, thyme, and oregano. Stir well.
  • Next, add the olive oil to the mixture and refrigerate (preferably for one day).
  • In a pan, fry the meat (wait until the pan is very hot).
  • After frying the meat, remove the excess oil.
  • Slice the onion and tomato into julienne strips.
  • Heat the pita bread, and when it's warm, add the meat and vegetables (onion and tomato).
