Homemade Chicharrón Gorditas

Deliciously Mexican recipe for fried gorditas made with corn dough filled with pressed chicharrón, served with cilantro, onion, and cheese. This dish is perfect for your parties; everyone will love it.

  • 1/2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup pressed pork rinds
  • 1/2 kilos masa dough
  • 2 cups lard, for frying
  • 1/2 cups queso fresco, crumbled
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped, for serving
  • 1/2 cups fresh cilantro, finely chopped, for serving
  • green salsa, for serving

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, add the white onion, and cook until softened, add the pressed chicharrón and cook for 10 minutes. Cool and set aside.
  • Form balls of dough, make a hole in the center, and fill with chicharrón. Flatten the dough to make the gordita, forming a circle 8 cm in diameter.
  • Heat a small pot with lard, fry the gorditas until golden. Remove the gorditas and drain on paper towels.
  • Cut the gordita in half filled with cheese, onion, and cilantro. Serve with salsa. Enjoy!
