Wash and dry the leg well, poke it all over with a fork, and place it in a large container.
Blend 1 cup of cider, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper, completely coat the leg and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours.
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Remove the leg from the refrigerator and place it on a baking tray, stuff the leg with almonds and raisins, inject the remaining cup of cider. Rub the entire leg with butter, add the marinade on top, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 5 to 6 hours.
While the leg is baking, make sure to baste it with the marinade several times while it cooks.
Let it rest for 20 minutes and serve.
