Pork Chop with Sweet and Sour Tomato Sauce

  • 1 cup Embasa® tomato sauce for dressing, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped, for the sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice, for the sauce
  • 1/4 cups honey, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white wine, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch, for the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest, for the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chile flakes, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for cooking the chop
  • 4 pork chops, non-smoked, 300 g each piece

  • Pour the EMBASA® Tomato Dressing Sauce along with the butter and minced garlic into a hot pot, cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes. Add the orange juice and honey, and once it reaches a boil, add the white wine. Cook the sweet and sour tomato sauce until it starts to thicken slightly.
  • Pour a little of the tomato sauce into a bowl and dissolve the cornstarch to avoid lumps. Once dissolved, add the cornstarch to the sauce along with the orange zest, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix and let thicken for 2 more minutes, then keep warm.
  • Pour a little oil into a well-heated grill pan, place the pork chops, season with salt and pepper, and cook each side for 10 minutes. If you have a thermometer, measure the internal temperature until it reaches 72 °C.
  • Serve the pork chop immediately, drench with the sweet and sour tomato sauce, and accompany with mashed potatoes and salad.
