Carnitas Style Sonora

This recipe is ideal for a family gathering as it is very generous and economical. Prepare some delicious taquitos, serve with guacamole and green tomatillo salsa.

  • 1 kilo pork loin
  • 2 orange juice
  • 1 liter whole milk
  • 1 kilo lard
  • 1/4 onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • salt , to taste
  • 500 milliliters water

  • Place the pork loin in a large pot with all the ingredients and let it cook for 1 hour and a half or until the meat is cooked. Be careful not to overcook it so it doesn't dry out.
  • Once cooked, cut into medium cubes.
  • Place the cubes of meat in a large flat skillet. Brown them and add a little of the cooking broth.
  • Serve with corn tortillas, accompanied by delicious guacamole and green tomatillo salsa.
