Preheat the grill, and cut the pork rib rack if it comes whole.
Put the onion, garlic, ginger, chili, and soy sauce in a food processor and make a paste. Transfer it to a serving bowl, add lemon juice, sugar, and oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the ribs in a preheated wok or large pot and pour in the soy mixture. Bring to a boil and let simmer, stirring frequently for about 30 minutes. (If it looks dry, add water)
Remove the ribs and reserve the sauce.
Grill the ribs over medium heat, turning and basting with the sauce for 20-30 minutes. Transfer to a platter and serve immediately.
