Sweet and Sour Pork

Oriental food is very delicious, and here is a very easy one to make, plus it's super tasty. The meat can be substituted with whatever you like best; I personally love it with pork.

  • 1/2 kilos pork loin , in pieces
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch, (cornstarch)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, or white
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoons ginger powder
  • 2 tablespoons soy
  • salt , to taste
  • pepper, to taste

  • Season the meat with salt and pepper, then flour it. In a pan with a little oil, sauté the meat.
  • Once the meat is cooked, add the peppers and sauté without overcooking them, set aside.
  • For the sauce, in a saucepan, pour the water, add the sugar, and mix until dissolved.
  • Dissolve the cornstarch in 4 tablespoons of cold water, once dissolved, add it and mix until it starts to thicken over low heat.
  • Add the vinegar, pineapple juice, and ketchup.
  • Season with ginger and soy sauce.
