Tonkatsu

  • 4 boneless pork chops, 1 cm thick
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 3 cups flour, for breading
  • 2 eggs, for breading
  • 1 1/2 cups panko, for breading
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/4 cups ketchup, for the sauce
  • 1/4 cups Worcestershire sauce, for the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey, for the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce, for the sauce
  • white cabbage, to accompany

  • Season the meat with salt and pepper on both sides and set aside.
  • Dust the chops with flour, remove the excess, and then dip them in the egg. Finally, coat the chops with panko.
  • Fry the chops in plenty of oil over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side. Drain the excess oil on paper towels and set aside.
  • For the sauce: Mix the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and soy sauce until all ingredients are combined.
  • To serve the tonkatsu: Cut the breaded chop into 2-centimeter strips and accompany with tonkatsu sauce and shredded white cabbage.
