ABC Cookies

Make these incredible and delicious ABC cookies for your kids for back to school. They are made with butter with a slight almond flavor and are decorated with royal icing; colorful and sure to be loved.

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 1 egg white, for the royal icing
  • 1/4 teaspoons lime juice, for the royal icing 1/4 teaspoons lime juice, for the royal icing

  • 2 1/2 cups Great Value® icing sugar

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Cream the butter with the sugar in the mixer. Add the egg yolks one by one while mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Add the vanilla and almond extracts, the flour, and the salt. Mix until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
  • Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Roll out on a floured surface with a rolling pin and cut with letter-shaped cutters.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes or until the edges are golden. Cool.
  • For the royal icing, beat the egg white with the lemon juice until it reaches a meringue consistency. Gradually add the sugar until fully incorporated.
  • Separate the royal icing into different containers and color with food coloring. Decorate the cookies to your liking and let them dry between layers. Buy HERE
