Boil 1/2 cup of water with sugar over medium heat until you obtain a slightly thick mixture (approximately 10 minutes).
Remove from heat and quickly stir in the honey.
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gradually add the ground almonds and sugar syrup until well combined.
Transfer the entire mixture to a pot and cook the turron over low heat for approximately 15 minutes or until the bottom of the pot is visible when stirring.
Line a mold with wax paper and pour the turron into it. Let it cool, and your sweets are ready.
The turron can serve as a dessert or a companion to hot beverages like rompope, cider, or punch.
