Apple and Dulce de Leche Pastry

  • 3 apples
  • 1/3 cups cranberries
  • 1/2 cups walnuts
  • 1/2 cups rum

  • 350 grams puff pastry
  • 3/4 cups dulce de leche
  • 1 egg, for brushing
  • walnuts, finely chopped, for garnish

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • For the filling, peel and slice the apples into very thin slices, place in a bowl and mix with the nuts, blueberries, and rum. Macerate for 30 minutes, drain well, and set aside.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to a thickness of 3 mm, using a 10 cm diameter cutter to cut out discs.
  • Fill the puff pastry discs with apples and a bit of dulce de leche, using your hands to fold and seal the pastries. Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with nuts.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with milk or coffee.
