Apple Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream

  • 5 apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 lime, its juice
  • 1/4 cups brandy
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cups oats
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Peel the apples and slice them thinly. Transfer the apples to a deep bowl and mix with the sugar, lemon juice, brandy, and cinnamon.
  • Prepare a baking dish and grease it with cooking spray.
  • In another deep bowl, mix the walnuts, flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and butter. Mix well with your hands until you have a thick dough.
  • In the baking dish, first place a layer of apples and on top of them, place a layer of the oat dough.
  • Bake for 45 minutes and remove from the oven.
  • Serve the cake with vanilla ice cream.
