4 apples, large (for the filling)
1/4 cups sugar, for the filling
1 lime juice
2 tablespoons flour, for the filling
1/2 tablespoons cinnamon, for the filling
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup flour
1 1/4 cups oats
1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 stick unsalted butter, into pieces
vanilla ice cream, to accompany

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and position the rack in the lower third of the oven.
Peel the apples and slice them thinly.
Place the apples in a deep bowl and mix with the filling sugar, lemon juice, filling flour, and cinnamon.
Place the apple mixture in a rectangular baking dish and set aside.
In another deep bowl, mix the nuts, flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. With your hands, work the dough and gradually add the butter.
Cover the apples with the floury dough and bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden. Remove from the oven.
