Apple Pie

  • 6 apples
  • 1/2 kilos flour
  • 180 grams butter
  • 400 milliliters cola
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C and grease the pie pan.
  • Wash and disinfect the apples.
  • Peel and slice the 6 apples.
  • For the dough: add the flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and mix, then add the butter at room temperature and the cola and mix again with your hands. Press the butter well so that there are no lumps, knead until it reaches the right consistency, which should not stick.
  • Divide the dough into two balls, one for the pan and another for the topping.
  • Take one ball of dough and roll it out until it is the size of the pan, place it in the pan until it completely covers it with no gaps.
  • Add a layer of apple slices, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, cover with enough layers to fill the pan.
  • With the remaining ball of dough, roll it out and cover the top of the pan, using a fork, press all around the edge to fuse it with the dough that covers the bottom pan, make two cuts to allow air to enter and bake from the inside.
  • With the egg yolk, brush the outside of the dough, then sprinkle a little sugar on top.
  • Lower the oven temperature to 180 °C and bake the pie for 45 to 50 minutes. Once it looks a little golden, carefully take it out and let it cool.
