Banana Muffins with Chocolate Chips

A delicious dessert that kids will love! The muffins are banana with chocolate chips and are topped with whipped cream, sprinkled with chocolate chips, and with a cookie perched on top.

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 bananas, ripe mashed bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cups cow's milk
  • 3/4 cups chocolate chips

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C (175F).
  • Place cupcake liners in a cupcake tray.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix the mashed bananas with the milk, room temperature butter, and eggs.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the mashed bananas and stir until well combined (do not overmix).
  • Add the chocolate chips.
  • Divide the mixture among the muffin cups (3/4 full).
  • Bake until golden and cooked through, about 32 minutes.
  • Cool the muffins on a wire rack.
  • To serve, place each muffin on a plate, add whipped cream on top, sprinkle with chocolate chips, and nestle a cookie on top.
