Bread Pudding

  • 300 grams bread, from the day before
  • 1 liter cow's milk
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 100 grams unsalted butter , or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • raisins, soaked in 1 cup of liquor (for several days or at least the night before)

  • Cut the bread.
  • Serve the milk with the sugar, and when it starts to boil, add the bread and butter. Let it cool, then add the beaten eggs and raisins.
  • Grease a mold with caramel (by melting 1 cup of sugar until it turns golden), ensuring the mold is well coated.
  • Bake at 350 °F for 45 minutes in a water bath (the previous mold inside another mold with water) or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
