  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 packages cream cheese, for the frosting (190 g each)
  • 1/4 cups cajeta, for the frosting
  • 1 cup dulce de leche, for the filling
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, for the filling
  • 1/4 cups cajeta, for decoration
  • 1/4 cups walnuts, finely chopped, for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Beat the eggs with sugar until they change color, gradually add the butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, beat until combined.
  • Pour into 2 previously greased and floured pans, bake for 25 minutes. Let cool and set aside.
  • For the frosting, beat the cream cheese with the cajeta for 5 minutes.
  • Assemble the cake by placing one sponge cake on a rotating base, add dulce de leche and walnuts, and place the other sponge cake on top. Cover with frosting and decorate with more dulce de leche and walnuts. Refrigerate for 20 minutes and serve.
