  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 tablespoons vanilla essence

  • Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
  • Sift the flour together with the baking powder and set aside.
  • Beat the eggs at high speed and add the sugar in the form of rain, until the mixture doubles its volume and the preparation turns white.
  • Still beating, add the vanilla, the oil and finally the milk. The latter must be added in the form of a thread and little by little so as not to reduce the volume of the preparation. Add the orange zest before finishing beating.
  • Add the flour already sifted with the baking powder, incorporate it in two batches or if necessary in three or four, so as not to leave small lumps in the preparation. Mix in an enveloping way with a spatula or miser.
  • Pour the preparation into a previously greased and floured baking pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a knife or skewer inserted comes out clean and dry.
