Chocolate Cake with Yogurt

  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 4 ounces apple purée
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup coffee , hot
  • 3/4 cups cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 package pudding, cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 cups FAGE® Total 0% greek style yogurt
  • cooking spray
  • powdered sugar, for decoration
  • chocolates, grated for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 160°C, grease and flour a cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, chocolate pudding, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix the hot coffee with the cocoa powder until dissolved, then gradually add the milk and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  • In a mixer or with an electric mixer, combine the sugar and oil, and beat.
  • Add the apple puree until well mixed, then add the egg and egg whites until a homogeneous mixture forms.
  • Add some of the reserved dry ingredients and a little of the liquid mixture, alternating until both mixtures are fully added. Beat until everything is well mixed.
  • Add the FAGE Total 0% Greek Yogurt and lightly beat to combine.
  • Pour the mixture into the mold and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Unmold and sprinkle with powdered sugar and grated chocolate.
