Chocolate Surprise Cake

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1 cup water

  • Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar.
  • Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until all ingredients are combined.
  • Boil the cup of water and add it to the mixture. Stir until you have a liquid mixture.
  • Grease a cake pan and pour the mixture into the pan. Bake at 180°C for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • Once the cake is cool, use round cookie cutters the size of the pot. Place the circles inside the pot until it is completely filled.
  • Crumble the rest of the cake and place the crumbs on top of the last cake circle. This is to form the soil of the pot.
  • Roll out the fondant and cut out the flowers. Place them on top of the crumbs and add a few leaves. The leaves can be made from green-painted icing or fondant.
  • Finish by placing a bow around it.
