Banana and Orange Cake

One of my favorite recipes, it turns out really delicious. The orange zest perfumes the bread and gives it a perfect flavor.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cups oil
  • 2 eggs , shakes
  • 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • Preheat the oven to 175 °C (350 °F). Grease a 20 cm round mold and flour it.
  • Sift the flour together with the baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • Mash the bananas, beating on low speed with the brown sugar and standard sugar.
  • Add to the mixture the oil, previously beaten eggs, sour cream, orange zest, and vanilla.
  • Gradually add parts of the flour, stirring until everything is incorporated and pour the mixture into the mold.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out dry. Remove from the oven and let cool.
