Delicious green apple sandwich with cream cheese, served with a rich scoop of nut ice cream. It is the ideal dessert, served on delicious slices of Oroweat® Butter Milk Bread. This is a perfect recipe for the little ones at home.
In a food processor, lightly chop the nuts (walnut, almond, pistachio, and peanut). Place the ice cream in a bowl and add the nuts, stir, and freeze. Every half hour, remove the bowl from the refrigerator and stir again (to prevent ice crystals from forming in the ice cream).
Grate the lemon zest.
Cut the apple into thick slices.
Place the cream cheese (at room temperature) in a bowl. Add the lemon zest, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir.
On one slice of bread, spread 2 tablespoons of cream cheese, place two slices of apple, and cover with 2 tablespoons of cream cheese. Place another slice of bread on top. Repeat this step with the remaining bread. Toast the sandwiches and cut them in half (diagonally).
Stack 3 halves of sandwiches, place ice cream on top of them, and sprinkle a little cinnamon.
