Impossible Pumpkin Cake

The impossible cake gets its name because, at first glance, it seems impossible that such a delicious creation could be almost unreal: a layer of cake followed by a layer of creamy flan. The good news is that it is very easy to make, and we created a version with pumpkin flavor and autumn spices, prepare it at home with D'Gari® products!Did you know?   • 150 milliliters milk, at room temperature, for the cake
  • 100 grams butter, for the cake
  • 100 grams honey, for the cake
  • 200 grams flour, for the cake
  • 1 teaspoon REXAL® baking powder, for the cake
  • 120 grams brown sugar, for the cake
  • 1/2 tablespoons spice mix, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, cardamom, ground ginger, and anise; for the cake
  • 1 egg, for the cake
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest, for the cake
  • 1 can pumpkin purée, 425 g, for the flan
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 1/4 cups milk, at room temperature, for the flan
  • 6 cups milk, 1,500 ml, at room temperature, for the flan
  • 2 boxes D'Gari® flan vanilla flavor with caramel, 84 g each
  • D'Gari® Caramel, for decoration
  • pumpkin seeds, for decoration
  • cinnamon stick

Low
  • Heat the milk, butter, and honey in a pot over low heat for 3 minutes. Mix and set aside.
  • Use a stand mixer to mix the flour, REXAL® baking powder, and brown sugar. Once combined, add the spice mixture and mix until integrated.Make a well in the center of the mixture, pour in the milk mixture gradually, and add the egg. Beat for 3 minutes or until a smooth and homogeneous batter is obtained.
  • Add the orange zest, mix with a spatula, and pour into a medium-sized springform pan that has been greased and floured. Cover less than half of the medium round pan and bake at 180 °C for 30 minutes. Let cool.
  • Blend the pumpkin puree with pumpkin spice and milk, set aside.For the flan mixture: heat the milk and Flan D'Gari® vanilla flavor with caramel in a pot. Mix and add the pumpkin.
  • Pour the flan mixture over the already baked cake and refrigerate for 1 hour or until set.
  • Unmold and decorate with Caramelo D'Gari®, pumpkin seeds, and a cinnamon stick.
