Gansito Cake

Recipe for a cake with a flavor similar to the treat we all know.

  • 8 eggs
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • orange zest
  • 300 grams flour
  • 200 grams chocolate
  • 400 milliliters whipping cream
  • strawberry jams
  • 100 grams icing sugar

  • Beat the eggs with the sugar until fluffy. Incorporate the vanilla while continuing to beat.
  • Sift the flour together with the baking powder and gently fold it into the egg mixture.
  • Add the orange zest, being careful not to overmix.
  • Place in a previously greased mold and bake at 180° for 30 minutes or until cooked and slightly golden.
  • In a pot, place 100 ml of heavy cream and 200 gr of chocolate until completely melted. Let it cool.
  • Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until it forms peaks.
  • When the cake is ready, take it out of the oven and let it cool.
  • Cut the top off to create a slight indentation and add the strawberry jam.
  • Pour the chocolate ganache over it and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • Put the whipped cream in a piping bag with a nozzle and make decorations. Enjoy!
