Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease a pan with cooking spray.
Make the cake batter following the instructions on the package. Pour the mixture into the mold and bake for the indicated time. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the mold and then remove it. Allow to cool completely for 1 hour.
Using a serrated knife, cut the square corners of the cake into an oval shape like a minion.
Empty half a jar of vanilla frosting into a bowl and add yellow food coloring, mix well, and spread a thin layer of yellow frosting on the cold cake. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Remove from the refrigerator and add another layer of yellow frosting, refrigerate again until the frosting is firm, approximately 15 minutes.
With a spatula, make a curved line upwards in the frosting approximately 4 inches from the bottom of the cake. Mix half of the leftover frosting with blue food coloring and cover the bottom part of the line downwards with blue frosting, including the lower edges of the cake. Use 1 strip of licorice to cover the line, trimming any excess strip if necessary. Refrigerate the cake for 30 to 40 minutes.
With the remaining vanilla frosting, make a circle to form the minion's eye. Place a chocolate circle at one end facing down on the white frosting.
Knead the chewy chocolate candies with your hands until they form a sort of play dough, make a strip and wrap it around a plastic cup to form a circle (this will be the minion's lens), lift the cup and with a pastry brush apply a little corn syrup to the chewy chocolate ring. On a deep plate, place the silver sugar and coat the ring completely in the sugar.
Remove the cake from the refrigerator and place the ring around the eye made previously with the frosting.
Place the remaining two chocolate circles on the blue part of the cake to simulate the buttons of the pants. With a strip of licorice, create a smile shape under the eyes. Cut strips of licorice and form the hair above the eye.
With the black frosting, make two thick lines on the sides of the silver ring.
